MTB Root Art

I am not the artist, nature was. I rescued these pieces from rot, removed the bark, cleaned up the broken ends and preserved the wood. A boric acid soak was used as a deep preservative and tung oil is used on the surface. There is no polyurethane, paint, stain or varnishes; Mom Nature does fine coloring. Unfortunately these roots were gleaned from construction sites where most of the tree had been removed. Identifying the type of wood is difficult. They are from Athens County, Ohio for the most part.
