Why Donald Trump Should be Stopped 8-28-25
In last paper I chastised Kamala Harris and the dems, so it's only fair do a review DJT and the GOP. The lies cannot be tolerated. Whataboutism does not help the issue. We cannot not have a democracy based on lies.
1) In the US we have the free speech to claim anything but when it gets to court, there must be evidence. DJT lost 79 of 80 court cases claiming fraudulent voting in 2020. It is simple ignorance of how our electoral system works that allows this lie to continue.
2) DJT claimed that "I think the number is close to 5,000 " dead people voted in Georgia. There were mistakes but the final number was four and even these were understandable mistakes. Nearly 5 million votes were cast in Georgia. Go to the website of the Secretary of State in your state for the facts. This issue was dead long ago but nobody reads anymore. 3) DJT claimed that millions of non-citizens voted in 2020. The Cato Institute did an informative review of this in May of 2024. Also note that non-citizens can vote in local elections in some cities. It is a federal crime however for non-citizens to vote in state and federal elections. (To be fair our system does need change. The paper ballot with electronic counting machines is verifiable but the touch screen voting machines with a printed receipt are not. Voter privacy is also an issue.)
4) The absurd claims by DJT that immigrants are "Migrant criminals.” “Illegal monsters.” “Killers.” “Gang members.” “Poisoning our country.” “Taking your jobs.” is false, racist and hateful. Yes, in any large group there will be criminals, but the incidence is minuscule according to FBI data and data from the states. These claims also make no sense, immigrants are here to make money to send home, they will do nothing to risk losing the job or being deported.
5) I wish that I could claim that my property is worth ten times its value for the purpose of getting a loan, and then claim the same property is worth one tenth its value for tax assessment. This is tax fraud and DJT is a convicted criminal who is getting away with it because we elected him president.
6) Just how long do think importers, manufacturers and retailers will put up with absorbing the cost of tariffs? DJT thinks that we are stupid. Tariffs are hidden taxes paid mostly by those of us living paycheck to paycheck.
7) A sixth grade algebra student would laugh at DJTs tariff chart and formula. Really cool looking symbols in the formula but when solved showed results basically pulled out his ass. The world is laughing at us.
8) Seriously folks, does your shower water dribble out? Do you need to flush 10 times? Are wind turbines causing cancer?
9) The "Big Beautiful bill" cut nearly everything that might actually help real people yet increased funding for the only part of the federal government that has never passed, or even completed an audit, the military. Maybe the influence of the "military/industrial complex" had something to do with this?
10) The fraud and waste scam. Inspectors Generals are responsible for rooting out fraud and waste. DJT fired 17 of them and then turned the job over to a major contributor to his campaign. This is called grift.
11) We are in a world of hurt when people can be snatched off of the street and imprisoned without charges. We have the rule of law here and it applies to everyone in and out of government.
12) The IRS funding increase was intended to allow investigations of the complicated gymnastics used by the wealthy to avoid taxes. DJT cut this funding. "Steal a little and they throw you in jail, steal a lot and they make you king" Bob Dylan.
13) Melania is an immigrant, her family is here as "chain migration". More DJT hypocrisy.
14) "I know more than the generals", "Ukraine started the war", global warming "hoax". DJTs ignorant and appalling hubris and bravado. I would bet everything I have that a high school history teacher would know more about Russia and Ukraine than DJT.
17) DJTs claim to reduce drug prices by "I don’t mean 50%. I mean 14- 1,500%.". A forth grader would see the ignorance in that statement. Is he saying that we will get paid to take drugs?
19) DJT claims that liberals "they love crime", "they protect alien criminals", "they hate freedom". Just more DJT hate and stupidity.
20) DJT echos Putin about mail-in ballots. Of course an election is only fair if he wins.
21) The trashing of our institutions. The courts, our electoral system, our scientific research, our educational system, the Federal Reserve, FEMA, the CPFB, the Weather Service (NOAA), the Department of Justice and of course the free press. This is what dictators do. Notably DJT does not trash Wall Street, the military, the police or foreign dictators.
In summary, we Americans are pretty good at clicking "like" buttons for the latest viral meme but terrible at looking up the facts. DJT makes claims every day without evidence. The answers will not be found on Fox, CNN, Facebook or any of the partisan news outlets.
Does anyone go to a Secretary of State website for state election information? Does anyone go to the FBI website for crime information? Does anyone go to the CIA World Factbook for demographic information. Most large city police departments publish crime statistics, does anyone look at them? No, we don't. We believe cherry-picked data, anecdotal stories and ranting by billybob.com that misrepresents reality but affirms our every bias. How many of us have even looked at a scientific paper? How many of us could define what the Scientific Method is? We will pay the price for our intellectual laziness and it will be bad.
