Appreciation
However you define God, as a divine being or a cosmic system, we have been given this Earth of Magnificent Perfection as our own.
We have about us the endless diversity of life and land, more than any number of lifetimes could possibly experience.
We should be humbled at the abundant sustenance and the beauty of this world.
But among us are those who lust for more than their share, those who foul our waters and rape our lands, and those who seek shallow self-glorification.
Others are left to suffer in hunger for a better life.
We should all fear the wrath of God for this disparity.

Many of us in 2016 were hopeful that a non-politician, businessman would bring about a much needed new direction for this country. Unfortunately this new direction has been turned toward authoritarianism by Donald Trump.The President, in court cases and Executive Orders, seeks powers granted by the "Unitary Executive Theory".
If successful, the long-standing Separation of Powers between the branches of our government would end. We are at severe risk of an authoritarian dictatorship in the US.
A short summary of what is at risk:
Trump v. Slaughter - If successful the president could fire heads of independent agencies agencies without cause.
The President is today permitted, by Law to discharge officials only “for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office”. With this new executive power our agencies would be subject to the short-term, political whims of the Executive branch. It would overturn law and precedence dating back to 1935.
AFGE v. Trump - Our professional, merit-based Civil Service has existed by law and precedence since 1883.
If successful these laws, passed by Congress to end the era of the "spoils system" of corruption, patronage and political favoritism would be overturned.
Executive Orders 14154, 14169, 14151 and others resulting in multiple court cases)
If successful, Laws and appropriations made by Congress would be subject to the short-term political whims of this and future presidents. It would end the Congressional Power of the Purse as established by the Constitution.
Lawsuits filed by Donald Trump against opposition media outlets
If successful, these efforts would allow the incredible power and influence of the Executive Branch to direct public discourse for political motives. Our free press would end.
Executive Orders using Emergency Powers
National Emergencies Act (NEA) (1976) grant the President special authority during crises. Trump has used this power to arbitrarily designate criminal elements (smugglers) and political opposition (the anti-fascist movement) as national security risks subject to the Rules of War.
Crime is a civilian policing issue, NOT a military one. These actions effectively end of the Rule of Law in our nation at the whim of this president or future presidents.
Executive Orders using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) (1977).
Participation, staffing and funding for foreign aid and humanitarian efforts worldwide have been terminated by this president without the advise and consent of Congress as required by Law. These orders, if allowed to stand further expand Executive Branch power away from our Legislative Branch.
These are the powers that dictators like Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping possess.
